Location: Cameroon
In Cameroon, less than 34% of new born are registered at birth. Plan Cameroon launched its Universal Birth Registration(UBR) campaign in 2010. Originally planning to process 6000 birth certificates, over 8000 certificates were actually processed! Based on this initial achievement and demonstration of the need for birth registration, a new campaign was launched to process 10,000 birth certificates with 17,156 actually processed! Now UBR campaign will be expanded and is planned to process 19,288 new certificates and supply the registration centres with necessary equipment.

Location: Sierra Leone
This project helped to address the acute shortage of shortage of quality teaching and learning materials process for some of the most disadvantaged schools and children in Port Loko district. This helped keep many more children in school who would have otherwise dropped out because their parents cannot afford the materials. The project contributed to the efforts of the Government to provide free basic education in the country.

Location: China
Project: Children in areas of rural China are suffering from malnutrition. They're a far cry from the stainless steel models that are the trend in our part of the world. But these little metal stoves are an engineering wonder. Cheap to produce, they are sturdy, fuel-efficient and create less smoke than a traditional open fire. They're used by women in camps, who can now spend less time getting family meals ready and more time earning an income, selling food prepared on their Darfur Stove, and cooking up a better life.
